When I was travelling through Cyprus, the monasteries were some of my favourite stops, not just for their frescoes and courtyards, but for the handmade goodies you can often buy there. Honey, soaps, wine… little treasures that make the visit even sweeter.

Kykkos is the most famous monastery in Cyprus, perched high in the Troodos Mountains. The drive winds through pine forests and stone villages, so it’s worth spending a night nearby rather than rushing.
